Visiting a College or Technical School
If you and your parents can arrange to do so, plan to visit some colleges and/or
technical schools in the summer after your junior year. Schools are happy
to have you visit, but there are certain courtesies and preparations necessary
to make your visit most worthwhile. Here are some suggestions:
1. The
best visits include seeing the campus on school days when you can observe
classes in session, spend a night in a dorm, and talk with your students,
admissions officers, and faculty members in your own area of interest.
Most visits can be arranged by calling or writing the admissions office 3-4
weeks in advance.
2.
Research the school(s) before you visit.
3.
Visit the neighborhood in which the school is located.
